The best parents aren't the ones letting Big Tech raise their kids

The best parents are the ones setting boundaries, whether their kids like it or not.

Many parents I talk to feel guilty about restricting screens "too much"

If you feel the same way, let me tell you:

You're doing the right thing

It's not because some parents are careless about tech that you should too.

It's not because your kid's friends have 3 smartphones, 17 tablets, and an account on every social media with no restrictions whatsoever that should indulge in this nonsense too.

Steve Jobs, the very creator of the iPhone and iPad, didn't allow his kids to use one. As geeky as he was, his house was "tech-free".

Now, times have changed since Steve Jobs passed away in 2011:

Tech is essential in the personal and professional world. It would be a disservice to deprive a kid from developing tech skills.

But it would be a disservice too to let them soak in the digital world too much. They also need to develop other essential skills - the ones developed in the real world.

And...

...It's not the only issue

Studies show premature thinning of the frontal cortex, mental health issues, and severe attention disorders among kids spending too much time a day on screens and/or on social media.

Among others, Michel Desmurget, a neuroscientist, sounds the alarm:

"Never such an experiment in decerebration has been carried out on such a large scale"

So, what can you do about it?

What is the right balance? Which rules to set? How to set them? How to keep your kids in line once they rebel?

How to keep your kids safe when they can find out on Google how to bypass parental controls?

How to avoid fights about tech? How to make your kids not feel miserable when they see their friends enjoying unlimited hours of video games and social media?

In short...

...How to protect your kids from abusing screens without fighting?

That's where Kat and I come into play:

Tech guy + psychologist =

Digital issues with your kid solved (and prevented)

I'm Vic, 24, a geek who used to help his friends bypass parental controls when he was younger. It means that I know what will protect your kids online, or not.

Today, as geeky as I am, I'm incredibly concerned about the impact of the digital world on the youth, and the consequences at an entire generation scale - the future citizens of this world.

So is Kat, a psychologist used to advise about the tech side of parenting.

In her 27+ years of practice, she witnessed the drastic change in the youth's cognitive abilities, and had to raise her own kids in a fast changing digital world.

If you're looking for a perfect mom who always knows best, forget about it:

Kat is human, made a lot of mistakes, and will never make you feel bad for doing so too. But she will always have a solution to your problem and the right words to defuse any kind of situation.

That's her job after all.

Here's what you can do:

First option

Learn about Foolproof Parental Controls

Digital safety starts with foolproof parental controls. Yes, foolproof.

Most parents ignore it: 6 kids out of 10 bypass parental controls. Because most of these apps aren't foolproof.

That's why I compiled the few foolproof parental controls in a brochure: so you can keep your kids safe no matter their tech-savviness.
